Camp Calendar
Teen Camp Details
Teen Camp (Graduating 6th, 7th, 8th, graders) goes on exciting field trips each week. We will be using rented school buses and Calvary vans to transport the children ~ the majority of time the vans will be used. The campers will additionally be “In House” for special activities. We are planning to re-visit some successful trips from last year. We have also added some new trips that we hope will be exciting.
Teen Camp is much more than something to do inside of leaving your child home alone…. It is an opportunity for each young person to grow in Christ & reach out beyond themselves!
NEW THIS YEAR....
- In an effort to make summer camp more affordable for all families we are offering the same rate for part and full summer. In addition, tuition can be paid weekly or monthly. You will simply have to contract and commit to a designated number of weeks upon registration. Transportation costs will be blended into the weekly field trip-transportation fee. Full summer spots will be given precedence over part summer position; however everyone will only have to pay for the weeks contracted for. You will be guaranteed the weeks that you contract for only.
- Each parent will be required to read and sign the enclosed policies for summer camp (last page).
- We will continue to have chapel/Bible time. Our staff will share openly with your child what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as it is outlined in the Bible. The staff will do this in fun, practical ways. This is the primary mission of Calvary Child Care Center as a whole, as we are a ministry of Calvary Full Gospel Church (www.calvaryfullgospel.org). Campers will need to bring a NIV version Bible for camp.
- We have calendars enclosed for you. The enclosed calendars will give you a framework of what to expect, but remember – the calendars are SUBJECT TO CHANGE due to weather and/or any other reason. It is important to watch your calendars closely. Certain trips will require specific clothing, early leaving times, and other important details.
- Every young person will need to bring a disposable bagged lunch, snacks and plenty of drinks, on a daily basis unless notified otherwise. Bringing snacks is new this year. Some trips have lunch included – watch the calendar! Please pack lunch items that will not spoil during the day. You may wish to include an ice pack or frozen juice pack to preserve the freshness of your child’s lunch. No glass, please! We will not have the means to refrigerate or warm up lunches. Breakfast will be provided if your child arrives by 7:40 am.
- Young people will need to bring a backpack to camp and carry their own lunch and any other needed supplies. They are responsible for their own belongings. Each child should bring a backpack daily and is responsible to carry it and know where it is.
Things NOT to bring…….
ELECTRONIC DEVICES - such as, iPods, MP3 players, hand-held games, cell phones etc.
If parents need to be contacted about first aid issues, schedule changes, late arrivals, etc. – the camp staff or office staff will contact parents – young people will not bring their phones and will not call or text parents themselves, so please take note of this when registering.
Any offensive items/clothing (this would include but not be limited to items related to wizardry/sorcery, frightening images, etc.). *Clothing should be modest (avoid spaghetti straps, low-cut shirts, and short shorts) and closed toe shoes need to be worn for safety (flip flops/open toe shoes can be worn for beach days only).
It is our desire to honor God through everything that we do and say and represent. We additionally want your child to be safe at all times. Closed toe shoes will protect your child’s feet better than flip flops.
On beach or pool days, children should come to school with bathing suits already on, with clothes on top and sunblock applied. They will bring a bag with towel, underwear, dry shoes/socks, & sunscreen. It will help greatly have the young people label their belongings.
We expect children to participate in the summer camp program by being respectful to others and to adults. If a behavior problem prevents a child from being able to attend a trip, we will notify the parents at once. It may be necessary for someone to come to pick up the child. It is very important that children are respectful to adults and of their peers both inside and outside of the building. Of course we don’t anticipate behavior problems, but things happen and parents need to be aware of this in advance, just in case J. Our primary concern is for the safety and well being of all!
****ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES****
Our trips are varying in terms of length and distance. In general, we will be out for the majority of the day. The building opens at 6:30 AM and closes at 6:00 PM. See the parent agreement/policies (last page) for late pick up fees.
Please plan on bringing your child no later than 9:00 AM and picking up your child no earlier than 4:30 PM daily.
**Please call if your Teen Camper is not coming for the day**
**Some trips will require leaving earlier than 9:00 and coming back later than 4:30 – watch the calendar!!!! Of course, traffic can be unpredictable, and sometimes the Teen Camp will not return until later than 4:30 PM.
Please keep these times in mind when scheduling doctor and dentist appointments, sports practices, etc. We cannot leave a child here during a field trip or bring someone back early. If your child arrives after the group has left, we will not have a space for him/her and you will need to take your child back with you. On a trip day, if your child has an appointment that would require him or her to leave earlier than 4:30, please do not bring him/her to camp for the day.
We cannot bring your child back early from a trip and traffic is always unpredictable!!
PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY AND ASK NOW IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
Calvary Child Care Center as a whole is on a monthly payment system. Only for Summer Camp, we will accept Summer Camp payments on a weekly basis but greatly prefer them on a monthly basis. You are required to contract for the weeks your child(ren) will be attending camp and then are responsible for paying for those weeks regardless of attendance. When using the payment envelope, parents must list out how much tuition, how much fees, and the total payment in the envelope. One check per envelope.
PAYING MONTHLY? >> Multiply the weekly rate by the number of Mondays in the month. If you are paying monthly, tuition will be due on the first day of camp (June 21st) and again on July 1st and August 1st. If monthly payments are not received by June 22nd, July 2nd and August 3rd, a $25.00 late payment fee is assessed– regardless of attendance. Please plan accordingly when the 1st of the month falls on a weekend.
PAYING WEEKLY? >> If you are paying weekly, tuition is due on the first day of camp (June 21st) and every Monday thereafter. . If the payment is not received by TUESDAY, a $15.00 late payment fee will be assessed – no exceptions.
